CHAPTER 2. GENDER-RESPONSIVE EVALUATION IN UN WOMEN

This chapter explains the UN Women governance and systems in place to carry out quality gender-responsive evaluations. It is the responsibility of all UN Women staff to adhere to the principles of the UN Women Evaluation Policy and promote a culture of evaluation responsive to gender equality and women’s rights, both within the entity and in the wider UN system and beyond. High-quality gender-responsive evaluations are critical for Results Based Management, knowledge generation for wider use, and accountability to programme partners and stakeholders. UN Women undertakes corporate evaluations, managed by the Independent Evaluation Office, and decentralized evaluations, managed by all other offices of UN Women.
